UK-SHEC 3rd Researchers' Workshop

IMG_0004

The 3rd Researchers' Workshop was held on Friday 9th September at the University of Bath.

The workshop was designed to bring together and encourage networking and collaboration between young post-doctoral researchers and PhD students working in all areas of hydrogen research (e.g. production, storage, end-use, socio-economics).. This was supported by an evening social event for all attendees. In addition to members of the UK-SHEC Consortium, the Workshop was open to all post-docs and PhD students in the UK with an interest in areas of hydrogen research and/or fuel cells.

IMG_0010The workshop was introduced by Prof Tim Ibell, the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Engineering & Design at Bath. In the morning sessions a series of 15 minute presentations were given on the areas of Hydrogen Production & Storage, Modelling and Fuel Cells. In the afternoon a series of successful 'flash presentations' sessions were held, where attendees were invited to give a brief 2-3 minute presentation to introduce themselves and their work to colleagues.

To finalise the workshop, a presentation was provided by Dr Tim Mays (PI for UK-SHEC at Bath) to highlight future opportunities for hydrogen and fuel cells research following the recent EPSRC call for a new SUPERGEN HFC hub.
