Theme 3: Social and Economic Implications

In Phase 1 of UK-SHEC, the social science and economics researchers were based at the Policy Studies Institute (PSI), London, and the University of Salford. Work was carried out in the form of 8 inter-related workpackages:

The Social Science workstream of UKSHEC phase 1 produced over 50 working papers, conference papers and journal articles. These materials are listed, with the majority of them freely available at the Social Science Workstream link. The work was highly successful  and important developments were made within the Consortium's socio-economic programme. A book based on this work is being prepared for publication.

Phase 2 of UK-SHEC also contains a strong social science research programme, to build on the work carried out in Phase 1. This programme is being carried out by researchers at the University of Salford and King's College London. Please see the Phase 2 link for further details.
