Theme 3: Integrated Systems
Theme 3 refers to the complete energy chain: from production to utilisation, and covering socio-economic aspects.
The work is being led by Professor Paul Bellaby at the University of Salford, an expert in the socio-economic aspects of hydrogen energy systems, and Professor Rex Harris at the University of Birmingham, who specialises in the science/engineering areas. The main tasks are to:
- Oversee and foster work within the Consortium linking activities in production and storage, and between the science/engineering and socio-economic teams; and
- Ensure that the Consortium continues to work towards the ultimate objective of all work in hydrogen storage: to provide practical, economic, acceptable, sustainable and safe energy systems.
This involves identifying, developing and encouraging links both within the Consortium and externally.
